Meet Sissi in the Royal Palace of Gödöllő The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is the largest baroque palace in Hungary and with its 17000 sqm, one of the largest one in Europe. The palace was built in the 1700's, in a special so-called " Gödöllő" baroque style. It was Empress Elisabeth’s ( Sissy’s ) favourite place, too. The palace’s newly renovated main wing was re-opened in 1996. It is the house of the Queen Elisabeth memorial exhibition, what presents the every-day life of the Royal Family in Gödöllő.

4) HEREND, THE CITY OF PORCELAIN & TIHANY

From 1851 onwards, its meticulous, hand-painted masterpieces of unrivalled beauty won countless gold medals at world exhibitions. Herend Porcelain soon gained the place it deserved on the tables of monarchs, princes, aristocrats, statesmen and Hollywood stars. The visit includes 3 stations, as follows: v Visit of the Mini Manufacture v Visit of the Museum v Time at disposal in the Brand Shop of the Manufacture After the visit the guests are invited to have lunch in the Apicius restaurant Afternoon: Visit & walk at Tihany: Tihany is situated in the Peninsula of Tihany and in a hill from which one can have a panoramic view to the lake Balaton. Here is the medieval abbey, which was founded by the king Andrew I., from the Árpád dynasty in the 11th century.
